Kentucky Legislature enacted a new law applicable to qualified mental health and healthcare professionals, which mandates completion of a training program in suicide assessment, treatment, and management. This training must be completed by June 30, 2016. Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk is a one-day workshop produced by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) on assessing suicide risk, planning, treatment, and managing the ongoing care of the at-risk. AMSR is for mental health professionals, including social workers, licensed counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists.
Ky. Department for Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities is sponsoring Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) workshops across the state. Our special thanks to Jan Ulrich, Ky. Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPRC), Lisa Morales, SPRC-AMSR Operations Manager, and the host Kentucky Community & Technical Colleges for their assistance. All trainings are set up through SPRC-AMSR http://www.sprc.org/training-institute/amsr including registration. Host sites will be KCTCS campuses.
